Kim Nguyen Pierce, PhD
Dr. Kim Nguyễn Pierce is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing evidence based, culturally sensitive interventions to individuals across the lifespan, including work with multigenerational families. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Masters in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California with a double major in Psychology, Gerontology, and a minor in the studies of women and men in society. She has trained at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and completed a one year Geropsychology training program at Martin Luther King Hospital in Los Angeles providing group therapy, assessments, and short term individual therapy with older adults.
Dr. Pierce has worked in various settings including substance abuse programs, juvenile halls, inpatient child and adult settings, and school based mental health. She has also provided consultation and collaboration with major initiatives throughout the state of California to promote systems transformation related to program/policy/workforce development, and public education. Dr. Pierce also incorporates multicultural awareness and culture-specific knowledge/skills in resource development and change management.
Dr. Pierce is a member of the Academy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is focused on evidenced based treatments and solution focused outcomes. Recently, Dr. Pierce completed her certificate program in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. She combines her training in attachment theories and life span development, with a multicultural lens to effect changes within her clients. Dr. Pierce is a first-generation immigrant from Vietnam and brings her life experience, education, and training in psychology to help all people from many walks of life to experience hope and healing. She is also conversational in Vietnamese and Spanish.
